A West Indies all-rounder, a young star from Bangladesh and an ever-consistent New Zealander are in the running for the ICC Women’s Player of the Month Award for October 2023.

Vote here for ICC Women’s Player of the Month Hayley Matthews (West Indies)

The West Indies skipper started October in a blaze of glory as she contributed T20I knocks of 99*, 132 and 79 with the bat during a Player of the Series performance against Australia.

Matthews’ spell of 3/36 during the second match of that three-game series helped the West Indies clinch a memorable seven-wicket triumph and the talented all-rounder did not stop there once the ODI series against the Aussies commenced.

The 25-year-old hit scores of 20 and 23 during the two completed ODI matches, topping off an unforgettable month with both bat and ball for the West Indies.

The young left-armer was a constant menace with the ball throughout October as she led Bangladesh to a superb 2-1 T20I series triumph over Pakistan in Chattogram.

The highlight for Akter was undoubtedly the career-best figures of 5/8 during the first match, with the 23-year-old finishing the series with eight wickets and a deserved Player of the Series award.

Akter also scored a total of nine runs from two innings during the series with Pakistan, capping off an emphatic series triumph for Bangladesh.

Kerr was a standout in the white-ball series against South Africa during October, with the highlight coming in the final ODI of their series in Durban when the 23-year-old smashed an unbeaten century and picked up two valuable wickets in a Player of the Match performance.

The star all-rounder backed up that performance during the ensuing T20I series against the Proteas as she helped herself to innings of 70* and 61, and picked up a wicket to claim the Player of the Series award for the White Ferns.

Kerr’s all-round heroics ensured New Zealand finished the five-game T20I series with South Africa tied at 1-1 as the weather had a major say.
