England bounce back with huge triumph against Bangladesh
Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and elected to bowl first in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup but England were soon in complete control. The defending champions went on to secure a big win in Dharamsala.

After conceding 364 in the first innings, the Bangladesh batting fell apart, barring some brave batting from Litton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim.
Reece Topley was the destroyer-in-chief with a fine 4/43 in his quota of overs.

Match 7: England win by 137 runs against Bangladesh
Reece Topley showed top skill with the new ball to pick three crucial Bangladesh wickets in the first Powerplay. Tanzid Hasan was the first to go, caught behind by Bairstow off Topley. The left-arm pacer then had Najmul Hossain Shanto off the very next ball, who gifted a catch to the Point fielder.
Topley’s best, however, came in the sixth over. He cleaned up Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan for merely one to derail the chase.

Another wicket for Chris Woakes and Bangladesh were four down by the ninth over. Litton Das was the only Bangladesh batter to get into a good rhythm and played some beautiful shots to push the Bangladesh scoring rate up. He brought up his 38-ball half-century in the 11th over.
Along with the experienced Mushfiqur Rahim, Das helped Bangladesh cross 100. However, once he was caught behind in the 21st over off Woakes, the Asian side were all but out of chase.

Rahim (51) and Towhid Hridoy (39) fought for Bangladesh but the England target proved to be too much eventually.
Dawid Malan smacked 140 runs from 107 balls to put England in command as they look to get their ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup title defence back on track against Bangladesh. He hit 16 fours and five sixes during his knock. He was eventually dismissed in the 38th over by Mahedi Hasan.

This was their third-highest total in Men’s Cricket World Cup. Their second-highest score, incidentally, came in the previous World Cup in Cardiff against the same opponents.
Earlier, Jonny Bairstow was selected for his 100th ODI and made a scintillating start alongside Malan as the opening pair ensured England were in a strong position at the end of the Powerplay on 61/0.
Both batters went on to reach their fifty as England passed 100 without loss until Shakib knocked over Bairstow’s castle for 52.

Malan was eventually bowled by Sheikh Mahedi Hasan while trying to push the scoring along but by then England were 266/2 and eyeing off a huge total.
